"4muddyfeet - bare knuckle with an EZ30" (4muddyfeet)

I have two cubby holes under the seats in the Defender, and while one is fully of battery, the other is just wasted space. What can I do with the empty one that's super fun and creative and useful and awesome? It opens from the top, but could quite easily be modified to open from the front, side, or bottom. Halp!

Sorry, I should've mentioned that I live in Blighty. The whole car is a fridge because Lucas.

GREAT idea. Can you run tools off a 12V compressor? Even if it was just for tyres it'd be super useful

if you want to run tools you can't from the 12v but great for re inflating after lowering the pressures. If you want to run tools you can get there is a way, but it'll get expensive. You need a tank(bigger capacity the better for air tools) I've seen old fire extinguisher tanks modified to suit and a A/C pump modified to pump air, awesome set up. The modded A/C pumps are available commercially in Australia so probably in developed nations as well.

I'll have to measure up. There's a chance I could pony up a couple of 12ltr tanks in there, but I'd struggle to find place for the air hose and compressor. Got me thinking though :)

I'd only embarrass myself, the R/C would quite happily overtake the Landy. I like your thinking though!

nothing at all - you need to send it, postage pre-paid, to me.
okay, failing that, an inverter? you can be the only one out in the boonies with an electric shaver. The ladies will love you too as they can use their hair blower.

The usual set of emergency tools, duct tape, fuses, WD-40, rags, bulbs, hi-vis vest, first-aid kit... Should kinda fill it out. I don't think you can fit the emergency triangle in there, so add more tools if needed.
I would, however, attempt a sort of foam-with-cutouts schtick, so stuff fits in neatly and doesn't rattle about like skeletons having sex in a drainpipe.
Kind of like this:

I have a 30" canvas roll bag that sits in the back which has all my needed ropes, tools, jacks 'n shite in it. A foam insert for whatever I do chuck in there is a good idea though. Compressor is top of my list atm.
